WHO IS DOMINGOS QUINA?

Born in Guinea Bissau, Domingos Quina was brought up in Portugal and on the books at Benfica as a youngster, before being lured to Chelsea as a 13-year-old.

The midfielder's talent has been the source of much attention from rival clubs. Manchester United were rumoured to have considered a bid back in January.

Quina primarily plays in the No.10 role for Chelsea and Portugal’s youth teams. His strengths are dribbling, his ability ability to beat a man and shooting.

Chelsea signed Quina from Benfica as a 13-year-old and have high hopes for the Portuguese.

Stamford Bridge has not exactly been a happy hunting ground for youngsters during the Roman Abramovich era.

The club’s academy is stocked with talent but very few players have managed to break into the first team. Most Blues youngsters see multiple loan spells fail to grab the attention of those in charge and eventual leave to seek first team football elsewhere.

There are constant reports of young players at Chelsea who are frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities and the club regularly have more than 30 players out on loan.

Only Ruben Loftus-Cheek has really progressed through from the Cobham academy in recent years, he signed a five-year deal at the end of February

That congested pathway into the first team at Stamford Bridge will concern Quina, particularly with the club due to spend heavily again this summer.

And the Blues face losing their highly-rated youngster to a direct rival.
