It will be do or die for Barbados’ best junior athletes in the final Trials meet for the Caribbean Union Of Teachers (CUT) Games in Bermuda at the National Stadium from 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The cream of the crop from the National Primary Schools Athletics Championships will be on show as they try to make the team in the Under-9 and Under-11 age groups.

The Under-13s seem a lot more clear-cut with the likes of Skye Spencer-Layne, Samiya Dell, Kaleisha Downes and Jahzara Holford favoured among the girls. Daniel Duncan and Tyjah Bishop are expected to lead the boys’ challenge.

The battle for the Boys’ Under-15 slots should be a lot more competitive with Josiah Parris, Caleb Massiah, Kobe Hutson, Jaden Pearce, Jamarco Gill and Brandon Downes among the front-runners.

Fleet-footed sprinter Aaliyah Agard, the versatile Tiara Stewart and middle distance runner Layla Haynes head the Under-15 girls, but there area number of other sprinters in contention for places.

Apart from Barbados, other participating countries at the July 13-14 at Bermuda’s National Sports Centre are Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, The Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Nevis, St Croix, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.
