Boys soccer: Meridian at Sehome

7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18
Sehome High School

Meridian has an early test in the spring season against the 2A state runner-up Sehome Mariners. The Trojans, who finished 14-5-1 last season, only graduated two kids and return a handful of all-conference selections. Sehome is also returning several players and will be one of the early favorites to capture a 2A state title this year.

WWU Softball vs. Western Oregon

Noon and 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 14
Viking Field

Western Washington softball opened conference play with a 2-2 record and currently ranks 11th in the country with a 14-7 overall record. After a short break, the Vikings return to Viking Field to face Western Oregon on Thursday and Friday in a four-game series. The Vikings have already defeated Western Oregon three times this season.

Honeywagon Runs

9 a.m. Saturday, March 22
Nooksack Valley Middle School

The 42nd Honeywagon Runs will start and finish at Nooksack Valley Middle School in the morning. Participants can choose between a 4-mile course or a half marathon event. The registration fee ranges from $10-$45 depending on if you are a member of Greater Bellingham Running Club and what events you want to compete in. Each race will award ribbons and a cash prize for the top three runners.
