Nolan Arenado dominated the headlines over the offseason as the St. Louis Cardinals were reportedly trying to trade him for the better part of the winter.
Arenado has a huge contract and a no-trade clause attached to it, so moving him could be tough, especially since he reportedly cleared a trade to just six teams. The six teams in question are the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.
None of these teams have seemed overeager to jump on a trade, but the market could still open up.
ESPN's David Schoenfield recently suggested the Cardinals would cut ties with Arenado this season in a blockbuster trade.

"Arenado's status is more up in the air as the team tried to trade him in the offseason," Schoenfield wrote. "Will some team want him now? He's making $32 million this year, $27 million in 2026, and $15 million in 2027, which complicates things. He's off to an excellent start -- with more walks than strikeouts while hitting for average -- so that could create some interest, and there are certainly teams that could use an upgrade at third base."
There's a chance a team like the Angels will jump at the chance to acquire Arenado in the coming weeks, as they're performing much better than most expected.
The Padres and Dodgers are both dealing with infield injuries and poor play from some starters. The Phillies have seen a disastrous start from Alec Bohm.
There's also a chance Arenado widens the net by waiving his no-trade clause for a team like the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees or Houston Astros.
