Heartfelt tributes paid to Mary on RIP.ie this week included: “Sincere sympathy to Ann, Claire, Emer, Alan also the OFlaherty and Hynes families on the passing of Mary to her eternal reward in Heaven. We used to meet Mary at the fleadhanna, she was helpful and extremely interested in the music, she was a true cultured lady of Irish language, art and music. May she rest in peace.”
And: “Heartfelt Sympathy to Maire's family, her siblings and the extended family on her sad death. Maire was an inspiration - her bravery and courage knew no bounds. It has been a privilege to be a friend of Maire's for many, many years and her support for Comhaltas and Irish Culture in general was immense. May Maire, a truly kind lady, rest in eternal Peace. Thoughts and Prayers are with you all at this difficult time.”
While another mourner wrote: “I'm so sad to hear about Mary's passing and would like to express my deepest condolences to all her lovely family and friends. It was such a pleasure to know her! We met many years ago through our role as volunteers for Arthritis Ireland and had lots in common as we shared the same rheumatoid arthritis disease. She was a fantastic role model for anyone with chronic disease with her ' can do' attitude. Mary showed her kindness through her tireless work managing a water exercise class in Celbridge and exercise classes in Maynooth. She also fundraised for the local branch activities. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.”
