Over one month of the 2025 New Jersey high school boys tennis season has come and gone.
And while even elite teams have fallen this spring, there are 19 squads from 12 conferences entering May still without a loss.
See who each of the teams are below.
Note, records are through Wednesday, April 30.
Christian Brothers (13-0)
Christian Brothers didn’t play its first match of the season until April 9, but it has kept busy since then. The Colts are 12-0 on the year and have traveled all around the state. They have many strong road wins at Cherokee, Glen Ridge, Wayne Hills, St. Peter’s Prep and Holmdel to name a few. They also have home victories over Edison, Haddonfield and Rumson-Fair Haven. On April 15, the Colts pulled off a double and beat both Wayne Hills and Southern in away matches. Vincenzo Caruso has been one of the state’s premier players this spring. At first singles, the sophomore is 11-0 and has dropped just three total games. Luke Brennan and Ari Macaluso have also been solid second and third singles players, and Dylan Cuneo/Julian Voorhees and Teddy Peredina/Sterling Porter have done well at doubles.
West Windsor-Plainsboro South (13-0)
West Windsor-Plainsboro South is ranked No. 1 in the NJ.com Top 20 and for good reason. The Pirates are 13-0 on the season with titles already at the Bryan Bennett Memorial Tournament, the Moorestown Classic and the Colonial Valley Conference Tournament. The Pirates have wins on the season against ranked teams in Pingry, Montgomery, Princeton, West Windsor-Plainsboro North and East Brunswick. They’ve also beaten Moorestown Friends, Hightstown, Lawrenceville, St. Augustine, Hopewell Valley and Episcopal (Pa.), a team that defeated Ridge. Second doubles Rohit Datta/Rishabh Shekdar, second singles Prahalad Dharma and first doubles Rohan Ramachandran/Shriyan Kumar have all not lost in team dual matches. Third singles Shritan Gopu and Shekdar/Datta both placed first at the CVC Tournament, too. This talented lineup has pushed starters from last season, Richard Hao, Karthik Buddhidnesh and Advaith Praveen to the bench.
Haddon Township (12-0)
Haddon Township, winners of four straight sectional titles and a group title in 2023, is still playing at a high level. The Hawks are 11-0 on the season including 3-0 within the Colonial Conference - Liberty division. Haddon Township has defeated some of the strongest teams in South Jersey in Clearview, Cumberland, Delsea, West Deptford, St. Augustine, Mainland and Haddonfield. Second and third singles Alexander Noone and Colin Engelbert, and second doubles Declan Mennuti/Nathan Keating are all undefeated. First singles Christian Erhardt’s only loss came against Haddonfield earlier this week by way of a retirement.
Newark Academy (12-0)
Newark Academy is now under the leadership of interim head coach Eleni Dakos, a former player on the girls team who graduated the school in 2020. The No. 2-ranked Minutemen, boasting a roster full of talented veterans and newcomers, won the Essex County Tournament this past weekend. Newark Academy bested No. 16 Montclair Kimberley in the final round, 5-0, and then took down No. 6 Millburn a day later, even without its complete lineup. Aadit Shrivastava and Kaan Ozsahin together won the ECT doubles title as well. Aryan Grover, Eddie Ho, Evan Lai, Daniel Zhou, Neev Rana, Caden Millerman, Andrew Zielinski have been the other main players for the Minutemen. Newark Academy is the deepest team in the state with reserves capable of starting almost anywhere else.
Bergen Catholic (11-0)
The Crusaders have defeated tennis teams from the east and west coasts this season. Bergen Catholic beat Summit on the road in its second match of the season, and it has also defeated Mahwah, Pascack Valley, Bridgewater-Raritan and Don Bosco Prep in-state. The Crusaders went to California during their spring break and won three matches out there as well. Park Ridge transfer Steven Komoto has been a steady force as has been first doubles Dan/Brian Song, third singles Leonardo Park, second doubles Daniel Calianese/Justin Choi and second singles Christian Choi.
Raritan (11-0)
The Rockets have blasted off to a remarkable 11-0 start this season. They have already separated themselves from the rest of the pack in the Shore Conference - Freedom division with a 9-0 mark. Raritan also passed its recent tests with Shore and Middletown South, beating them 3-2. Seniors Peter Geoghan and Eion Davis at singles, and Mike Schreiner/Nick Sheldrick at second doubles have been a big part of Raritan’s big year.
Pennsville (10-0)
The leader in the clubhouse in the Tri-County Conference - Classic division is Pennsville. The Eagles are currently 10-0 and 5-0 within the division. The only two teams they haven’t played yet are Glassboro and Woodstown. Pennsville has dominated its competition this season winning every match but either 5-0 or 4-1 scores including over solid foes in Millville, Pitman, Schalick and Delsea. Gabe Schneider, Maddox Efelis and Brody Wiggins have all been stellar at singles, while Lucas Cooksey and Sawyer Humphrey have done well at first doubles.
Hasbrouck Heights (9-0)
Hasbrouck Heights has already beaten teams it lost to last year in Weehawken, Secaucus (twice) and Rutherford (twice). A senior-laden squad, the Aviators have been led by one of the top players in the NJIC, first singles Jordan Ghongpa (7-1). Second doubles Connor Ng/Carter Spittle are unbeaten, while Andriy Mandzy at second singles and first doubles Ethan Tran/Luis Ndocaj have just one loss. Third singles Andrew Baculio is 6-2 as well. Hasbrouck Heights is 7-0 within the Meadowlands division, and it also owns a non-conference win over Bayonne.
Morris Knolls (9-0)
After going just 4-12 last spring in the NJAC-National division, Morris Knolls is thriving this year to the tune of an 8-0 overall record including 6-0 within the division. The Golden Eagles have won each of their matches, 4-1. While Morris Knolls is unbeaten, that could come to an end soon with matches against better teams Morristown, Sparta, Hanover Park and Randolph to come. Still, freshman Jacobo Dussan is undefeated himself at first singles (7-0), as are second doubles players Kristian Kipp, Aniket Parikh and Jack Whitney.
Kittatinny (8-0)
Kittatinny has gone racked up fantastic double-digit-win records each of the past three years, and it is on its way there again this spring. The Cougars are 7-0 overall and in the NJAC-Colonial, and each of their wins have been either 5-0 or 4-1 finals. Tyler Current/Zeke Osorio and Ben Ryan/Chase Freeman are undefeated at first and second doubles, respectively. Gabe Davis is also 5-1 at singles.
Marlboro (8-0)
The reigning Group 4 champions, Marlboro doesn’t have the high powered squad as it did last season, but the Mustangs have still broken through all the obstacles in their past so far. Wins on the year include over Manasquan, Rumson-Fairi Haven, Manalapan, Ocean Township and Ranney. One of the state’s top players, Sourish Gadhi, finally saw some playing time after missing essentially the first month of the season. Gadhi’s presence pushes Kanata Sasaki and Kenneth Sun down the line at singles who played well in his place. Tyler Leung/Leonard Reznik at first doubles, and Allen Xie/Evan Albert at second doubles are also unbeaten with one another.
Piscataway (8-0)
If you don’t know, now you know. After years of struggling in the Red division and White division of the Greater Middlesex Conference, the Chiefs have found a home in the Blue. Piscataway is 8-0 on the year both overall and in the division, and seven of the wins have been by 5-0 scores. First singles Eric Lindsay, third singles Soham Gupta, first doubles Arnav Patel/Dev Ranipa and second doubles Frank Duan/Neev Gupta are all undefeated. Second singles Kristian Thaxton has just one loss (7-6, 7-6) when he played up at first singles very early on.
Ridgewood (8-0)
Ranked No. 7 in the state, Ridgewood was ranked as high as No. 4 a few weeks ago. The Maroons have been without an injured Nikolas Martirossian since the season opener, but he expected back at some point. Newcomer Nolan Sharma Ben Caradonna, Andrew Chorba and Ethan Rosenberg have mostly filled in at the singles spots while Martirossian has been out of the lineup. Despite his absence, Ridgewood has defeated Wayne Hills, Ramapo, Dwight-Englewood, Paramus, Old Tappan and Northern Highlands rather convincingly.
Blair (7-0)
Blair earned back-to-back 4-3 wins over Peddie and Pennington in the last week or so. Andy Lee and Worapat Phisuthikul came through at both first and second singles as well as at doubles in both matches. Earlier in the season, Blair knocked-off Madison and Sparta, 5-0 apiece. Blair has a key match looming with Lawrenceville on Friday.
Lenape (7-0)
Lenape has moved up to No. 19 in the Top 20 courtesy of its 6-0 start to the spring. Lenape has impressively downed Moorestown, Shawnee, Seneca and Eastern by 5-0 scores. The Indians also have a 3-2 win over Cherokee and a 4-1 victory over Cherry Hill East. The win against CHE came during spring break without second singles Kunal Gupta and second doubles Michael Kravets. Logan Knasiak is getting his one and only chance as a senior to play first singles, and he’s won all six of his matches in team duals. Lenape also captured four flight titles at the Burlington County Open.
Metuchen (7-0)
There are two undefeated teams in Metuchen. The Bulldogs are 7-0 on the year with strong wins over Highland Park, Wardlaw-Hartridge, Sayreville and Old Bridge. Metuchen has made the Central, Group 1 final the last two years and is performing even better. First doubles Jon Chen/Abhishek Bansal, second singles Savor Toteja and second doubles players Patrick Turc/Jeremy Mark/Sathvik Majamder still haven’t lost. First singles Grayson Kahng is 6-1 with his one defeat coming in a 10-point tiebreaker.
St. Joseph (Met.) (7-0)
The other unbeaten team in Metuchen is the Falcons of St. Joseph. The Falcons have taken down the likes of Wardlaw-Hartridge, Highland Park, Old Bridge, Sayreville and Iselin Kennedy to get to 7-0. They had a previous match with Metuchen postponed, so the crosstown foes haven’t played yet. First singles Daniel Diaz, second singles Gio Fighera third singles Caiden Mooney and first doubles Diego Overjero/Andrew Szabo are all undefeated individually as well.
Tenafly (7-0)
The Tigers have been one of the top teams in North Jersey for a long time, and 2025 is no different. Tenafly dropped out of the Top 20 rankings recently, but has still notched quality wins over Demarest, Dwight-Englewood, Pascack Valley and Bergen Tech. Zachary Chizzik has moved from second doubles a year ago to third singles this season and is 6-0 from the position. Seiichiro Takayama (5-1) and Devin Seth (6-0) are back at singles and thriving as are Joe Kuwama/Ari Reitman at first doubles (6-0) and Chris Oh/Jang Christopher (5-1) at second doubles.
Wildwood Catholic (7-0)
Since 2011, Wildwood Catholic has had four winless seasons (the last in 2023), three one-win seasons, three two-win seasons and two three-win seasons, including last year. They had no team in 2022, and for the Crusaders to be 7-0 is exceptional. Wildwood Catholic has been led at singles by Chris and Evan Papageorglou and Christian Sorensen, and at doubles from Evan Landis/Chuckie Clunn and Charlie Flickinger/Chase Adams. Robbie Claxton, Jackson Doherty, Jack Kurtz and Jacob Reginer have all seen action, too.
Plainfield (5-0)
The Cardinals are 5-0 so far including 4-0 in the Union County Conference - Valley division. Each of Plainfield’s last three wins have been 5-0 wins over Linden, Union and Elizabeth. The Cardinals have used a variety of lineups especially at doubles, but second singles Cameron Holmes and third singles Raphael Simon are both unbeaten as well individually. Christian Moreno, Albin Alvarado, Jonathan Garcia, Walter Barrera and Hector Cahuec have all seen time at doubles, too. The Cardinals have a big test against Franklin next week in non-conference action.
