Arsenal are probably the most active club ahead of the summer transfer window. There's a possibility that they may sign multiple players in attack.

It is an area where Mikel Arteta believes that they need to improve if they want to challenge for the Premier League crown next season.

As per reports via CaughtOffside, the North Londoners are interested in signing Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman. The 27-year-old versatile winger has had a sublime campaign for Atalanta, scoring 20 goals and registering six assists across all competitions this season.

As per reports, Arteta is a big admirer of the former Everton and RB Leipzig winger. The Spaniard was impressed with his goal-scoring and chance creation.

However, if the Gunners wish to sign the 27-year-old, then they will face stiff competition from top European clubs like Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan.

Atalanta reportedly had set a pricetag of £50 million for Lookman, who can also double up as a second striker whilst playing on both flanks with aplomb.

Where could Lookman end up this summer?

Lookman has previously featured for Premier League clubs like Everton, Leicester City and Fulham but failed to have a major impact for any of those clubs. However, his fortunes changed when he moved to Serie A in 2022.

The 27-year-old guided Atlanta to their first trophy in 61 years when they won the Europa League last season. He scored a fantastic hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.

The recently concluded campaign has been his best in terms of output, and if he decides to join another team this summer, Lookman will be looking for a guaranteed starting spot.

Now, it remains to be seen if Arteta can convince the Nigerian to join Arsenal, and the Gunners will need to present a compelling long-term project to lure him away from Serie A.

The Atalanta winger could be a great acquisition for Arsenal. With his pace, dribbling and trickery, he would flourish in Arteta's high-pressing philosophy.
