The United States Mint released sales figures for its numismatic products through the week ending June 8, offering the first results for the new 2025-W $50 Uncirculated American Gold Eagle and the latest products featuring the Dr. Vera Rubin quarter.
The Dr. Vera Rubin quarter marks the eighteenth installment in the U.S. Mint’s four-year, 20-coin series honoring the accomplishments of American women. It is the third release of 2025 and the third-to-last coin in the program. In its opening days, combined sales of rolls and bags containing the new quarter reached 1,522,940 coins.
For comparison, this year’s first quarter, honoring Ida B. Wells, opened with sales of 1,695,920 coins, while the second, celebrating Juliette Gordon Low, began with 1,818,780. Among last year’s releases, initial sales were higher across the board: the 2024 quarters honoring Celia Cruz, Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, Patsy Takemoto Mink, Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray, and Zitkala-Ša recorded opening figures of 1,925,500; 1,887,760; 1,919,240; 2,010,460; and 1,670,720 coins, respectively
Each of these totals reflects a slower start than those of any 2023 quarter, whose debut sales ranged from 2,141,420 for Maria Tallchief to 2,745,380 for Bessie Coleman.
Sales Debut of 2025-W $50 Uncirculated American Gold Eagle
For the uncirculated Gold Eagle, opening sales reached 1,318 coins – an improvement over last year, though still among the slower starts in the product line’s history. Notably, this year’s coin opened $1,000 higher at $4,170, compared to last year’s launch price of $3,170.

Sales Appear for 250th Anniversary Army 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle
Elsewhere, the Mint’s weekly sales data included a total of 10,170 for the upcoming privy-marked 250th Anniversary Army 2025-W Proof American Silver Eagle. Pre-sales for the collectible begin on Friday, June 13, at noon ET. Something is not adding up.
When you combine these two numbers.
Mintage Limit: 100,000?
Great minds think alike Rick! I was pondering the same exact thought earlier when I saw Mike Unser’s numbers. I’m also wondering if this means a total production of 110,170 or if we will see an adjustment downward of the 100,000 to 89,730 available at some point before launch? Reminiscent of the 2019 W Enhanced Reverse Proof, where the Mintage/Product limit was 100,000. Then we all found out that there were another 10,000 included in the RCM Pride of 2 Nations set for a total of 110,000! The only thing I can think, though, based on past precedence, is they… Read more »
Nice, the mint cooks the books like Cpl. LeBeau
Ok Rick, here’s how this in theory plays out? I just looked again and since there is no 25APMAB, all sales will be lumped together, line item wise, counting towards the total of 100,000 max or whatever they were able to produce?(99,98?) Many dealers are not members of or a part of the ABPP/NBPP group. So they aren’t governed by the “Bulk Purchase Agreement Form” and can get inventory by whatever means they are able to. East Coast Guru mentioned in the previous thread that Bullion Exchanges was offering up a $180 bounty in an e-mail he received. Pinehurst is… Read more »
I agree, but I did want to point out the discrepancy.
Maybe the “ats” – ‘Available To Sell’ – or whatever that means, will update tonight/tomorrow and reflect what truly is available to the public? Doubtful, but hey.. Tomorrow at zero hour I’ll(we’ll) have a separate tab set up to ‘refresh’ the “ats” countdown – now that’s going to be interesting.
That last jig was sure weird. Also E1- “Who are You? who, who, who, who?”
Thanks E1, that was really good!
Post in Peace Bruh
The Who!!!? A#1 here….
for the mint the theme song for us disgruntled folk….
We don’t get fooled AGAIN
Domo Arigato!
Dou Itashimashite San Cali (you’re welcome Mr. Cali).
I wonder if an extra 10,000 mintage will affect the sales. 100,000 does seems like a magic number. The Pride of Two Nations at 110,000 and the 2021 RP Designer set at 125,000 seems to have less legs. Although previous discussion suggested RP fatigue. I guess we will have to see…both tomorrow and long term (including whether the mintage is greater than 100,000) I checked too early and did see last weeks sales and ATS=0. I wrongly assumed the numbers were blank because they are 25APM was an advanced sale so nothing was reported. If I were better at coding… Read more »
I hope that they don’t have more in mind than the posted limit. If so that would be false advertising imo. The AP’s are getting the exact same product packaging that the public will get. The novelty will wear thin quicker with 110k?
They may not even be struck yet since they still have 6 weeks until they ship?
I’m still in the “mint to demand” school. Mint 100k, 110k, 5k or 1M. I don’t care. Mint to the level that people want. I think the Mint does immeasurable damage to its reputation by leaving a swath of disappointed customers and former customers behind.
Agree, maybe someday?
Also, it’s a bad look for them when an overproduced item sits on the shelves for 1, 2, 3 years past the release date.
Or 8 YEARS
Abide by the published and advertised mintage #. USM is miserable at this, cooks #, drops favors to APB and sells bulk after a cutoff,,or has done so I the past. Drops of the enhanced Rev. ASE were a joke 400+ dropped by accident without limits, wonder what APB SUCKED THEM ALL UP….
PER SOME for every old customer they lose 3 replace them, fuzzy arse math
Florida Innovation 25 coin rolls are once again unavailable according to the Mint web site.
For a short time the 100 coin bag of ‘P’ was also listed as unavailable. according to the sales figures there should only be about 100 bags left
Tom, now it’s down to just bags from Denver! It will be interesting to see how the Texas one sells beginning July 31, which “features an American astronaut conducting a spacewalk outside the International Space Station. The image represents the culmination of the Mission Control Center’s economic, logistical, and intellectual support for NASA’s human space program, as well as its support of astronauts from the many countries that participate in the International Space Station program.”(USM)
so it is in the design that makes difference. the first innovation dollar this year had limit of 8400 from Philly for 25 coin roll. Florida was bumped up to 9100 and sold out in less than a month. The first $ this year hasn’t even sold 7400, so still has over 1000 to go despite having 700 rolls less to start with. By the way, I do hope they continue this series as planned. At the moment for me it is certainly more affordable than any gold coins (not on my budget) and the way they keep raising prices… Read more »
Tom it’s definitely the design that makes a difference! This years American Innovation Proof set is a winner and the only one I’ll probably own? Although I am contemplating picking up 2022 which contains the RI Reliance yacht, VT snowboarder and KY banjo designs. This years 2025 AI PR set will only have a maximum of 65,000 and stands a chance IMO of obtaining a sell out in less than a month possibly?
USAF Lieutenant Colonel Edward White was the first man to “Walk in Space” in 1965 (Gemini 5). Born in San Antonio Texas and buried at West Point. White, Grissom, and Chaffee died in the Apollo 1 fire in 1967. They were all American Hero’s.
The Space Walk AI Dollar should, IMO, make a great coin design. Astronaut Bob Stewart shown in the autograph below, 250 miles above the Earth working on the ISS, is an incredible image to behold. Hopefully the coin will be just as mesmerizing. Additionally, the technological improvements made in the space walk suits from 1965 to today is simply short of amazing. Definitely worthy of an AI dollar as it has always been an on-going American Achievement in Technology.
Great pick E1 and beyond fitting! I’m guessing others that may have fit the bill were “Rocket Man”, Elton John, “Space Truckin’”(great song) Deep Purple, “Intergalactic”, Beastie Boys, “Major Tom”, Peter Schilling, “Space Cowboy” Steve Miller Band, “Star Man” David Bowie, “Final Countdown” Europe or one of my ATF, “Walking on the Moon”, The Police!

Thanks Maestro/DJ Easy E1! For some reason that poster reminds me of the ole’ MTV days? Did you pick yourself up an autographed poster? Interesting that it’s mandatory that they have to be signed? I know you’re an autograph man! I don’t have many, however I do have a baseball signed by former Giants manager Dusty Baker and the late Ron Perranoski(coach) and Rod Beck(relief pitcher. Also have a 50/50 Jersey of the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche, signed by Ray Borque! Lastly a Willie McCovey autograph and an assortment of Raiders from 1980 or 1981. Cali,
Sounds like you have a number of great autos there. Authenticated autographs are another rabbit hole that I fell into a long time ago. My only advice, make sure they are authenticated by PSA, JSA, or Beckett before buying. Much like ball cards, avoid creases, bad corners, stains, scratches etc… and store them in a top loader. Some famous people like to sign and others don’t. Also, beware of the autopen. Finally, US presidents and any of the Apollo 11 crew are the top ones.
Cheers
Great selections but I vote for..
Spaceman. Harry Nillson
THAT was shocking…. I built a Revel model of that space walk, very cool. Dropping a wrench in a 100% 0xygen pressurized cabin was the disaster’s spark…
John Q, what a horrific event a couple years before I was born. I just read about the cause or speculation surrounding it on the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum website. “The Tragic Day on Pad 34“ The review board portion relays: “An electrical arc from frayed wires likely sparked the conflagration, which had burned hotter than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit as it consumed what investigators would determine was an excess of flammable materials.” “It seemed as if the drive to win the space race had created a culture of recklessness and what space historian Andrew Chaikin later identified as… Read more »
Here are some additional numbers to chew on! The sales of American Innovation(AI) Proof sets outsold the AI Reverse Proof sets by a significant amount this past week. Here are the Gain/+ totals for both. The 2022 AI RP set +1, 2023 +37 to 40,900, 2024 +67 to 34,451. The 2021 AI PF Set +49 to 90,195, 2022 +55 to 84,009, 2023 +52 to 60,766, and 2024 +103 to 64,143.
