Paul Cheville will be recognized by the Iowa Urban Tree council. The award ceremony will be at the annual Community Forestry Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 3.

Waverly Public Grounds Superintendent Paul Cheville will be recognized by the Iowa Urban Tree Council for his efforts in promoting and enhancing urban forestry in the State of Iowa.

Cheville, nominated by coworker Kate McGlaun, has been selected to receive recognition as an Outstanding Professional in Iowa at the Community Forestry/Tree City USA Awards Luncheon April 3 at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.

The mission of the Iowa Urban Tree Council is to guide, lead and assist public officials, professionals, volunteers and organizations with implementing urban forestry solutions. 

According to a city of Waverly announcement, Cheville's nomination recognizes accomplishments and commitments that resonate with the Urban Tree Council's mission. The council greatly values his efforts to preserve, protect, expand and improve Waverly’s urban forest resources. His contributions serve as a model for others, per the announcement.
