AUGUSTA, Maine (WGME) – Augusta police are asking for helping finding a boy missing since January.

Police say 16-year-old Thomas Ashford was reported missing by his family after leaving his home in the Northern Ave. area in Augusta.

His family says Thomas suffers from multiple mental health disorders.

"Despite this, he is a very intelligent young man. This is not the first time he has run away but like any loving family they desperately want to locate him to get him the help he needs," Augusta police said.

Police say Thomas ran away on January 21 and they have reason to believe he's doing okay and is still in Augusta.

If you see Thomas, please contact the Augusta Police Department at (207) 626-2370.
