A man has been arrested after what police believe to be illegal drugs were seized from a car in North Yorkshire.

Officers saw the vehicle travelling towards the York area at about 6.20pm yesterday (Friday, April 25).

But its driver failed to stop for officers, leading to the car being pursued to Easingwold, North Yorkshire Police said.

A force spokesperson added: “Several items were discarded from the vehicle which include a mobile phone and packages which contain what are suspected to be illegal drugs.”

They said a man in his 20s from the Leeds area was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for the police, possession with intent to supply a class A and a Class B drug, drug driving and dangerous driving. He currently remains in police custody.
