Matt Nowicki had two hits and three RBIs to lead Baldwin to a 7-2 victory over Montour in a matchup of playoff teams in Section 4-5A baseball Monday.
Ethan Hebling doubled and drove in a run and Hudson McKain had two hits and two RBIs for the Highlanders (8-5, 7-2). Michael Ivanoff had two hits and an RBI for the Spartans (9-6, 5-4).
Allderdice 5, Fox Chapel 3 – Winning pitcher Zack Shook hit two doubles and drove in two runs and Lukas Stead doubled and drove in a run to lead Allderdice (4-1, 2-1) to a Section 3-5A win over Fox Chapel (11-4, 5-4). Jeremy Haigh hit a solo home run for the Foxes.
Apollo-Ridge 3, Brentwood 2 – Apollo-Ridge (6-6, 4-5) scored the game-winning run on a balk, coming out on top of Brentwood (5-9, 3-6) in Section 3-2A. Zach Meyers and Richard Peach each knocked in a run for the Vikings. Tyler McDonald doubled and plated a run for the Spartans.
Aquinas Academy 15, St. Joseph 7 – Winning pitcher Jack Stanton and Jonah Burchill each knocked in three runs to power Aquinas Academy (3-9, 3-8) to a Section 2-A win. Anthony Zavolta drove in a pair of runs for St. Joseph (2-10, 2-9).
Beaver 5, Ambridge 4 – Down 4-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth, winning pitcher Derek Hughes helped Beaver (9-5, 6-3) rally with a walk-off two-run home run as the Bobcats defeated Ambridge (8-7, 6-5) in Section 1-4A. A.J. Gerace doubled and drove in a run for the Bridgers.
Belle Vernon 10, Albert Gallatin 0 – Winning pitcher Parker Lind went six innings, surrendering one hit while striking out 16, in a Section 2-4A win for Belle Vernon (10-3, 7-2). Connor Bergman had a single, double and two RBIs while Lucas Judy had a double and an RBI for the Leopards. Gino Valenti doubled for Albert Gallatin (4-10-1, 4-7).
Bethel Park 8, Chartiers Valley 1 – Mike Bruckner hit a home run and three doubles to lead Bethel Park (13-4, 8-3) to a Section 2-5A win over Chartiers Valley (6-10, 3-6). Dylan Schumacher got the win for the Black Hawks.
Burgettstown 4, Frazier 3 – Winning pitcher Matt Bredel struck out nine in a complete game and went 2 for 4 with a double while Sam Elich plated three runs as Burgettstown (10-1, 8-1) defeated Frazier (7-7, 3-6) in Section 1-2A. Chase Fulmer had an RBI for the Commodores.
Carmichaels 11, Avella 3 – Robbie Wilson-Jones finished with three RBIs, Brayden Andrews drove in a pair and Dayton Reynolds plated a run to lead Carmichaels (9-4, 6-3) to a Section 1-A win. Brayden Fuller went 2 for 4 for Avella (10-5, 6-5). Colin Andrews got the win for the Mighty Mikes.
Carrick 14, Penn Hills 4 – Eli Witman (two doubles) and Luzay Watson (single, double) each plated three runs as Carrick (6-6, 4-1) got the nonsection win. Kelly Maxwell went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs while Riley Mares collected a double and two RBIs for the Raiders. Korey Buckner had two RBIs for Penn Hills (0-14, 0-10).
Central Valley 5, Hopewell 2 – Winning pitcher Daniel McIntosh doubled and knocked in a run and Jackson Christopher went 2 for 2 with a double as Central Valley (8-8, 5-4) beat Hopewell (5-11, 4-5) in Section 1-4A. Benjamin McDonald doubled for the Vikings.
Charleroi 8, Brownsville 3 – Kaden Woods went 3 for 3 with an RBI and winning pitcher Logan Usher struck out nine to lead Charleroi (8-5, 6-3) to a Section 4-3A win. Camden Kline doubled for Brownsville (4-9, 3-8).
Connellsville 3, Gateway 0 – Matthew Firestone tripled and drove in a run, Jonathan Kelly had and RBI and winning pitcher Mason Miller struck out five in a five-hit shutout as Connellsville (10-5, 5-4) blanked Gateway (6-11, 2-7) in Section 4-5A. Grady Dunsmore doubled for the Gators.
Deer Lakes 3, Burrell 0 – Anthony Smith hit a two-run home run, Jake Fleisher was 2 for 3 and Andrew Connelly got the win as Deer Lakes (7-5, 6-3) blanked Burrell (8-6, 7-4) in Section 3-3A. Isaac Lasinski doubled for the Bucs.
Ellwood City 5, Mohawk 4 – Maykel Cuevas drove in a run, Aaron Lake started and struck out nine in five innings and Nathan Kennedy picked up a win in relief as Ellwood City (12-4, 7-2) edged out Mohawk (7-7, 5-4) in Section 1-3A. Vinny Pezzuolo tripled, doubled and knocked in a run for the Warriors.
Fort Cherry 4, California 3 – Ryan Huey tripled and drove in a run and Landon Trnavsky doubled and plated a run while Colton Temple got the win and Dylan Lueck earned a save as Fort Cherry (10-4, 8-1) defeated California (5-8, 5-4) in Section 1-2A. Eli Carpenter finished with two RBIs for the Trojans.
Freedom 18, Aliquippa 0 – Mason O’Donnell, Xavier Robbins and Boden Hilliard each plated three runs while Zach Kuntz threw a three-inning no-hitter as Freedom (9-6, 6-3) cruised to a Section 2-2A win over Aliquippa (0-11, 0-10).
Freeport 7, Yough 2 – Michael Hanz homered, doubled and knocked in two runs while Gage Blystone also plated a pair to lead Freeport (9-6, 5-4) to a Section 3-3A win. Aidan Shaffer doubled and drove in a run for Yough (2-10, 2-7). Pitcher Owen Westendorf struck out six for the Yellowjackets.
Greensburg Central Catholic 15, West Greene 0 – Winning pitcher Tyler Samide and Ian Shipley each drove in two runs to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (9-2, 7-1) to a Section 1-A win over West Greene (3-11, 2-7). Brody Bothell had three hits for the Centurions.
Greensburg Salem 10, Highlands 0 – Robert Visnick and Tyler Martin each plated two runs and winning pitcher Braedon Leatherman fanned four as Greensburg Salem (7-6, 5-4) shut out Highlands (6-9, 2-7) in Section 3-4A.
Hempfield 15, Woodland Hills 0 – Quinn Wilins tripled and knocked in three runs, Ian Kovalcik and Drew Jones each drove in a pair and Joshua Cayer got the win for Hempfield (6-11, 4-6) in Section 2-6A. Joe Young doubled for Woodland Hills (2-10, 0-10).
Indiana 5, Valley 0 – Greg Minnick struck out nine in five innings and Sulivan VanHoose fanned two in two innings as two Indiana (14-1, 9-0) pitchers combined on a no-hitter in a Section 3-4A victory against Valley (7-10, 2-7). Tim Birch went 3 for 4 for the Indians.
Jeannette 5, Mapletown 3 – Winning pitcher Jayden Kennedy fanned seven in five innings and went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBIs to power Jeannette (6-7, 4-4) to a Section 1-A win. Carson Vanata doubled and drove in two for Mapletown (2-11, 0-9). Amari Thomas picked up a save for the Jayhawks.
Jefferson-Morgan 7, Chartiers-Houston 0 – Dayten Marion tripled twice and drove in two runs and winning pitcher John Woodward hit a pair of doubles and knocked in two runs as Jefferson-Morgan (10-3) beat Chartiers-Houston (6-7) in nonsection play. Josiah Mouschlian doubled for the Buccaneers.
Knoch 2, Derry 1 – In the bottom of the ninth, Hunter Lang led off with a triple and Kaden Dreher hit a walk-off RBI single with two outs to lift Knoch (9-9, 5-4) to a Section 3-4A win. Cooper Allison drove in a run and Zane Pacek went the full nine for the Knights. Max Doherty and Mason Fridley each doubled for Derry (5-7, 4-5).
Latrobe 9, Armstrong 4 – Luke Nipar-Smith went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and four RBIs and Mason Leonard drove in two runs to lead Latrobe (13-4, 7-2) to a Section 1-5A win. Carson DeLano hit two singles for Armstrong (6-10, 4-7).
Laurel Highlands 4, Uniontown 0 – Parker Hoff homered, doubled and drove in three runs and Jackson Johns earned the win as Laurel Highlands (2-10, 1-8) defeated Uniontown (2-11, 0-9) in Section 2-4A. Elim Martin went 2 for 3 for the Red Raiders.
Leechburg 18, Rochester 3 – Jake Cummings knocked in three runs, Chase Henry and Garrett Jones each had two RBIs and Steven Senjan got the win as Leechburg (11-2, 11-0) rolled Rochester (6-6, 5-6) in Section 2-A. Braeden Signet went 2 for 2 with two RBIs for the Rams.
Ligonier Valley 12, Southmoreland 0 – Noah Knupp went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and Rocco Harris doubled and knocked in two while winning pitcher Austin Harr fanned eight in five innings as Ligonier Valley (6-7, 5-4) shut out Southmoreland (1-12, 0-9) in Section 3-3A.
Mars 5, West Allegheny 4 – Daniel Murray hit the walk-off single in the seventh to lift Mars (6-8, 2-5) over West Allegheny (6-8, 2-5) in Section 3-5A. Zachary Rozman drove in a pair of runs and Grady Speigle doubled and knocked in a run for the Fightin’ Planets. Brysan Zirwas plated two for the Indians. Braden Schmitt got the win for Mars.
Mt. Pleasant 4, Ringgold 2 – Carter Strayer doubled and knocked in a pair of runs and winning pitcher Jacob Kitz plated a run to lead Mt. Pleasant (12-4) to a nonsection win. Gavin Angotti drove in a run for Ringgold (7-9).
Neshannock 14, Northgate 2 – Dom Cubellis delivered a single, double and three RBIs to lead Neshannock (10-4, 6-3) to the Section 2-2A win. Ryan Cameron went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Cole Hutchinson doubled and drove in a run for the Lancers. Chris Crawford homered and drove in a run for Northgate (4-12, 2-7).
North Catholic 7, Blackhawk 4 – Jake McKee homered and knocked in three runs and Adam Mashuda doubled and drove in a run to lead North Catholic (7-5, 4-5) to a Section 1-4A win. Loghan Elich drove in two runs for Blackhawk (6-4, 5-4). Landon Roedler got the win for the Trojans.
North Hills 7, North Allegheny 3 – Austin DeMartino had two hits and two RBIs and Jacob Jurgensen collected two hits and drove in a run to help North Hills (7-10, 4-6) knock off first-place North Allegheny (10-6, 8-2). Nicolas Varlotta singled and drove in a run for the Tigers.
Norwin 5, Mt. Lebanon 1 – Ryan Helphenstine went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Ethen Culbertson got the win after allowing one run on seven hits and striking out four in a complete game as Norwin (11-6, 7-3) bested Mt. Lebanon (7-10, 6-4) in Section 2-6A. Benjamin Geissler doubled and knocked in a run for the Knights.
Obama Academy 8, Brashear 7 – Winning pitcher Caleb Myers doubled and drove in three runs and James Lozecki hit a walk-off RBI single to lead Obama Academy (6-3, 4-1) to a City League win. Kaden Jones doubled and knocked in two runs for Brashear (2-5, 0-4).
OLSH 15, Springdale 0 – Winning pitcher Iseia Schulz struck out nine in a four inning no-hitter to lead OLSH (10-6, 8-1) to a Section 3-2A win over Springdale (2-9, 1-8). Thomas Medwig, Dean Douglass and Ryan DeNinno plated two runs apiece for the Chargers.
Penn-Trafford 11, Kiski Area 4 – Aiden Drotos hit a solo home run, Ethan Spetak doubled and knocked in three runs and Logan Matrisch and Brayden Stone each plated a pair of run to power Penn-Trafford (11-5, 7-2) to a Section 1-5A win. Lucas Klimkowski and Noah Matson each had an RBI for Kiski Area (2-11, 1-8). Dom Delio got the win for the Warriors.
Peters Township 7, Trinity 5 – Brody Takacs went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, David Oberschelp doubled and drove in a run and James Stewart got the win as Peters Township (10-6, 5-4) defeated Trinity (7-7, 4-5) in Section 2-5A. Ayvari Chandler plated a run for the Hillers.
Pine-Richland 6, Central Catholic 3 – Sam Heckert and Tanner Cunningham each drove in two runs and pitcher Drew Boivin got the win as Pine-Richland (13-2) doubled up Central Catholic (4-11) in nonsection play. Johnny Bonacci doubled and drove in two for the Vikings.
Quaker Valley 10, Sto-Rox 0 – Michael Semonik and Nolan Wagoner each doubled and drove in a run while Holden Kirkham picked up a win as Quaker Valley (9-6, 5-4) cruised to a Section 1-3A win over Sto-Rox (0-12, 0-8).
Riverside 16, Beaver Falls 1 – Hunter Garvin tripled, doubled and knocked in four runs, John Bowser doubled and had three RBIs and Carter Giles got the win for Riverside (12-2, 8-1) in a Section 1-3A victory against Beaver Falls (2-9, 1-7). Tyson Davis drove in a run for the Tigers. Zack Hare doubled and drove in two for the Panthers.
Seneca Valley 7, Butler 1 – Ryan Piekutoski went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, Micah Olayer doubled and knocked in a run and Danny Drennan had an RBI as Seneca Valley (9-6, 6-4) scored six runs in the eighth to beat Butler (10-5, 6-4) in Section 1-6A. Boden Lenyk and Owen Boring each doubled for the Golden Tornado.

Seton LaSalle 14, Eden Christian 13 – Ryan Kerr hit a walk-off RBI single to lift Seton LaSalle (8-6) past Eden Christian (12-3) in nonsection play. Connor Rothhaar tripled and knocked in four runs for the Rebels. Brady Hull and Christian Watkins each drove in three runs for the Warriors.

Nate Tucker had a hit for the Wildcats.

South Allegheny 16, Steel Valley 0 – Koltin Keener doubled and knocked in three runs, Dillion Pomocki doubled and had two RBIs and Mason Campano smacked a solo home run to power South Allegheny (6-8, 5-4) to a Section 2-3A win over Steel Valley (5-9, 2-7). Josh Jackowski got the win for the Gladiators.
South Fayette 6, Canon-McMillan 4 – Ethan Rose doubled and drove in two runs, Bo Stover doubled and knocked in a run and Connor Rynn went six for the win as South Fayette (9-6) beat Canon-McMillan (13-5) in a nonsection matchup. Dominic Patragas, M.J. Maruschak and Sebastian Shulsky each doubled and plated a run for the Big Macs.
South Side 20, Carlynton 7 – Ryan Shaw, Andrew Madeja and Carter Wilson each drove in three runs and winning pitcher R.J. Fischer went 3 for 4 as South Side (8-5, 6-3) routed Carlynton (2-12, 0-9) in Section 3-2A. Graydon Harvey doubled and had four RBIs for the Cougars.

Union 16, Summit Academy 1 – Chris Staph doubled and knocked in four runs, Dom Cucitrone tripled and had two RBIs and winning pitcher Jalen Peace fanned eight as Union (6-7, 6-5) rolled to a Section 2-A win against Summit Academy (0-12, 0-11).
Upper St. Cair 4, Moon 1 – Tanner Schroeck batted two runs in to lead Upper St. Clair (9-6, 5-4) to a Section 2-5A win. Cooper Stutzman and Jonathan Stein each plated a run for the Panthers. Thad Longwell singled, doubled and drove home a run for Moon (3-9, 3-6).
Washington 6, McGuffey 3 – Jayden Hagan and Caleb doubled and Zander Henderson drove in two runs to lead Washington (4-11, 1-8) to a Section 4-3A win. Sam Stout and Reno Presto hit two singles apiece for McGuffey (7-7, 4-5).
Waynesburg 2, Keystone Oaks 0 – Chad Corwin went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Jake Stephenson doubled and winning pitcher Tyler Groves allowed one hit and struck out seven in 6⅔ innings as Waynesburg (13-1, 9-0) topped Keystone Oaks (7-6, 4-5) in Section 4-3A. Jack Hrivnak had a base hit for the Golden Eagles.
West Mifflin 14, Elizabeth Forward 9 – Jayvon Thompson plated two runs, Braedon Andzelik and Chase Maggio each knocked in a run and Caden Wills picked up a win as West Mifflin (14-3, 9-0) defeated Elizabeth Forward (10-3, 7-2) in Section 2-4A. Jacob Peterson homered and had two RBIs for the Warriors.
Western Beaver 7, Winchester Thurston 4 – Winning pitcher Vinny Ross drove in three runs, Sawyer Chaffee doubled and drove in two runs and Christian Stefankis tripled and plated a run as Western Beaver (10-4, 9-2) beat Winchester Thurston (9-4, 8-3) in Section 2-A. Mason Witten, Lucas Picher and Austin Lenhardt-Barley each drove in a run for the Bears.

Armstrong 6, Franklin Regional 3 – Calise Czekanski homered and Natalie Ziegler and Lily Gutherie hit RBI singles to lead Amrstrong (12-5, 8-4) to a Section 2-5A win. Ciara Camacho had a home run and three RBIs for Franklin Regional (12-4, 8-2).
Avella 12, Mapletown 2 – Avrey Rado hit a home run, Taylor Shirley tripled, Emily Buel hit a double and Emma Johnson drove in four runs to lead Avella (4-9, 3-5) to a Section 2-A win. Marley Shiflett hit two singles for Mapletown (3-11, 1-8).
Avonworth 5, Mohawk 4 – Abigail Brooks hit a home run and Emma Obersteiner doubled to lead Avonworth (11-4, 5-3) to a Section 2-3A win. Reagan Magno, Gianna Pezzuolo and Addy Moskal hit a double apiece for Mohawk (12-3, 9-1).

Carmichaels 9, Beth-Center 1 – Winning pitcher Bailey Barnyak struck out 17 and allowed three hits for Carmichaels (11-0, 7-0) in a Section 2-A win. Sarah Bader and Allison Lynch doubled for Beth-Center (2-10, 2-6). Barnyak had a double and two RBIs and Ali Jacobs hit two doubles for the Mighty Mikes.
Central Valley 13, North Catholic 6 – Aubrey Grater had a single, home run and four RBIs and Natalie Iannessa and Mckenzie Rizor drove in two runs apiece to lead Central Valley (5-6, 3-5) to a Section 3-4A win. Natalia Rushak and Kennedy Brown homered for North Catholic (6-6, 3-5).
Chartiers-Houston 18, Carlynton 0 – Lauren Rush went 4 for 4 with a triple, home run and four RBIs, Taryne Drilak went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and Seanna Riggle tripled to lead Chartiers-Houston (15-1, 9-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Sarah Loney hit a double for Carlynton (4-11, 2-7). Meadow Ferri recorded her 700th career strikeout for the Buccaneers.
Cornell 24, Rochester 19; Cornell 22, Rochester 7 – Cornell (5-4, 2-3) swept Rochester (1-13, 0-9) in a Section 1-A doubleheader. In the first game, Kylie Micholovic had two doubles and six RBIs and Kathleen Wegley drove in four runs for Cornell. Emily Weese had four doubles and six RBIs and Madi Henry had three doubles and three RBIs for Rochester. In the second game, Samantha Melius had a double and five RBIs and Michlovic drove in three runs for the Raiders. Weese hit two doubles for the Rams.

Katie Sokol and Lauren VanDivner hit a single apiece for Belle Vernon (8-9, 6-5).

Greensburg Central Catholic 17, Ellis School 1; Greensburg Central Catholic 16, Ellis School 1 – Greensburg Central Catholic (6-5, 6-5) swept Ellis School (0-8, 0-8) in a Section 3-A doubleheader. In the first game, Madison Keller went 2 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs, Maddy Bova had two doubles and four RBIs and Erica Rodriguez tripled. In the second game, Rodriguez and Abigail Dei hit a double and home run apiece and Keller hit two doubles and a home run.
Greensburg Salem 14, Valley 0 – Alle Scarpa threw a five-inning shutout with 10 strikeouts and helped her own cause with a triple and three RBIs to lead Greensburg Salem (9-4, 5-4) to a Section 1-4A win over Valley (0-14, 0-10). Cate Waugaman homered and drove in three runs and Sammie Reusser also had three RBIs for the Golden Lions.
Hopewell 10, Quaker Valley 2 – Kara Barkovich went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and three RBIs and Tallulah Showrank hit a triple and home run to lead Hopewell (7-7, 4-5) to a Section 2-3A win. Isabella Jarrett hit a home run for Quaker Valley (2-9, 1-8).
Keystone Oaks 14, East Allegheny 0 – Kennadi Smith threw a five-inning one-hitter and struck out 11 for Keystone Oaks (7-7, 5-4) in a Section 1-A win. Mylayja Hicks hit a single for East Allegheny (0-12, 0-9). Smith went 4 for 4 with a double, home run and four RBIs and Kailyn Brannon went 4 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Eagles.
Kiski Area 15, Penn Hills 0 – Kyla Hutcherson went 4 for 4 with three doubles, a triple and three RBIs, Alyssa Perona homered and Samantha Matson and Keiko Moorhead doubled for Kiski Area (5-9, 5-6) in a Section 2-5A win over Penn Hills (2-15, 0-12).
Knoch 7, Highlands 0 – Emersyn Jones hit a home run and Marlee Fraser threw a four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts for Knoch (14-1, 10-0) in a Section 1-4A win. Madison Gorney hit two singles for Highlands (7-7, 5-5).
Latrobe 11, McKeesport 3 – Julianna Bulebosh went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs and Sara Blossey hit a triple for Latrobe (9-7, 6-5) in a Section 2-5A win. Jessica Miller, Koylin Scheaffer and Addison Homer had hits for McKeesport (2-11, 1-10).
Laurel 5, Shenango 2 – Ivy Pancher had a double and RBI for Laurel (11-4, 8-2) in a Section 1-2A win. Sydney Byerly doubled for Shenango (7-8, 6-5).
Laurel Highlands 5, West Mifflin 4 – Payton Rambo hit a walk-off RBI double for Laurel Highlands (6-8, 5-5) in a Section 2-4A win. Caleigh Ignat hit a home run and Kaleigh Tatters doubled for West Mifflin (10-5, 8-2). Emelia Cavaliere and Payton Senge hit a double apiece for the Mustangs.
Leechburg 16, St. Joseph 0 – Danica Sopack went 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs, Adalyn Zanotto went 3 for 3 with an inside-the-park home run and three RBIs and Emily Talarico doubled for Leechburg (7-5, 5-3) in a Section 3-A win over St. Joseph (0-5, 0-4).
McGuffey 17, Steel Valley 4 – Miley Main drove in three runs and Julianna Ward and Kali Franks doubled to lead McGuffey (10-5, 7-3) to a Section 3-3A win. Lily Wright had a single and two RBIs for Steel Valley (4-10, 2-8).
Moon 5, Montour 4 – Cami Chambers went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs and Macy Trost drove in a run to lead Moon (6-7, 4-5) to a Section 3-5A win. Caylee Moser hit two doubles and Shania Cope homered for Montour (2-10, 0-7).
Neshannock 17, Riverside 0 – Addy Frye went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and Gabby Quinn and Payton Newman had a home run and three RBIs apiece to lead Neshannock (14-0, 11-0) to a Section 1-2A win over Riverside (6-7, 6-4).
North Allegheny 3, Norwin 2 – Erin Fadgen doubled and McKenna Rowlands tripled for North Allegheny (10-7, 9-5) in a Section 1-6A win. Addison Grimes and Makenna Black hit a double apiece for Norwin (5-10, 5-7).
North Hills 3, Plum 2 – Abigail Sutton had a double and two RBIs, Emma Culver doubled and Alexa Edmunds drove in a run to lead North Hills (14-3, 9-2) to a Section 1-5A win. Mackenzie Marotta hit a home run for Plum (11-5, 7-4).
Northgate 11, Brentwood 7 – Gracie Auth hit two doubles and drove in three runs and Sa’Niyah Wilson hit two triples to lead Northgate (9-6, 4-5) to a Section 2-2A win. Paige Boehm went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs and Emma Thompson doubled for Brentwood (4-6, 3-4).
OLSH 11, Burgettstown 1 – Julia Pinter went 2 for 3 with a double, triple and three RBIs and Leann Walzer doubled to lead OLSH (8-4, 6-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Brooklyn Robinson hit a double for Burgettstown (7-8, 4-5).
Pine-Richland 16, Mt. Lebanon 5 – Delaney Jamison hit a double and home run and drove in three runs and Abbey Laurent homered for Pine-Richland (12-5, 9-5) in a Section 1-6A win. Lily Dwyer hit a home run and Olivia Park doubled for Mt. Lebanon (6-10, 4-9).
Serra Catholic 4, Jeannette 0 – Kelly Morrissey threw a one-hitter and struck out 14 for Serra Catholic (7-5, 7-1) in a Section 3-A win. Grace Stein hit a single for Jeannette (7-4, 6-1). Alonna Morton and Johanna Domek hit a double apiece for the Eagles.
Seton LaSalle 19, Fort Cherry 0; Seton LaSalle 15, Fort Cherry 0 – Seton LaSalle (6-5, 4-3) swept Fort Cherry (0-13, 0-9) in a Section 3-2A doubleheader. In the first game, Gianna Ferrieri went 4 for 4 with a double, home run and four RBIs and Meadow Kennard doubled for the Rebels. Mylee Johnson hit a single for Fort Cherry. In the second game, Kennard went 2 for 3 with a double, triple and three RBIs and Delaney Baker doubled. Lila Schneider hit a single for the Rangers.
Shady Side Academy 14, Springdale 0 – Winning pitcher Becca Schriver threw a five-inning one-hitter and struck out 13 for Shady Side Academy (2-7, 2-6) in a Section 2-2A win over Springdale (0-6, 0-5). Schriver hit a home run and Olivia Parker had a single, double and three RBIs for the Bulldogs.
Shaler 10, New Castle 9 – Jayla Antomachi went 3 for 3 with a double and Alyssa Schaffold and Olivia Gieraltowski hit a home run apiece for Shaler (11-4, 9-1) in a Section 1-5A win. Mikayla DiGennaro hit two doubles and Aaryn McCarter drove in three runs for New Castle (8-8, 5-5).
South Allegheny 13, Apollo-Ridge 2 – Cadence McBride went 2 for 3 with a double, home run and three RBIs, Sydney Gordon hit two doubles and Ava Brown tripled to lead South Allegheny (12-1, 8-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Mikaila Ditty hit a home run and Madison Butler doubled for Apollo-Ridge (10-3, 5-2).
South Fayette 9, Upper St. Clair 2 – Cam Valentino and Evie Vuono hit a double apiece and Addie Vierra tripled for South Fayette (11-5, 6-3) in a Section 3-5A win. Caroline Barnard hit two doubles for Upper St. Clair (7-7, 2-7).
South Side 15, Bishop Canevin 0 – Anna Graff went 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs, Maya Ringhoff hit two doubles and Halina Matijevich drove in three runs to lead South Side (6-7, 3-3) to a Section 1-A win. Alexis Summers and Cate Hites hit a single apiece for Bishop Canevin (3-8, 2-6).
Southmoreland 14, Burrell 9 – Makayla Etling went 4 for 4 with a double, two home runs and four RBIs and Taryn Hollis drove in three runs to lead Southmoreland (8-5, 6-3) to a Section 1-3A win. Pyper Ferres went 5 for 5 with three doubles and three RBIs and Bella Stewart went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for Burrell (7-10, 3-7).
Thomas Jefferson 8, Connellsville 4 – Allie Chalovich hit the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the eighth for Thomas Jefferson (9-5, 7-2) in a Section 4-5A win. Molly Greenawalt singled and doubled for Connellsville (10-4, 6-4). Adalina Bracco went 2 for 4 with a double and five RBIs and Zoie DeCostro doubled for the Jaguars.
Trinity 13, Bethel Park 3 – Gabriella Humphreys went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Riley Venick doubled and Ally Krenzelak drove in two runs to lead Trinity (10-7, 8-3) to a Section 4-5A win. Madison Timms went 3 for 3 with a triple for Bethel Park (8-6, 4-6).
Union 9, Sewickley Academy 0 – Mia Preuhs threw a no-hitter and struck out 18 for Union (14-1, 10-0) in a Section 1-A win over Sewickley Academy (9-2, 6-2). Olivia Benedict hit a triple and home run and Irelyn Fisher, Addie Nogay, Madelynn Settle and Olivia Williams hit a home run apiece for the Scotties.
Uniontown 6, Oakland Catholic 3 – Emmaleigh Noah went 3 for 4 with a double and triple, Lauren White went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs and Alivia Noah tripled to lead Uniontown (9-6, 7-4) to a Section 2-4A win. Madison Pullen hit a double for Oakland Catholic (1-10, 0-9).
West Allegheny 3, Chartiers Valley 2 – Katelyn Cook’s RBI groundout in the top of the first proved to be the winning run for West Allegheny (11-4, 7-1) in a Section 3-5A victory. Lily Duffill hit a home run for Chartiers Valley (8-5, 6-2). Irena Santoro drove in two runs for the Indians.
West Greene 7, Jefferson-Morgan 4 – Katie Brudnock had a double and two RBIs and Marissa Tharp drove in two runs to lead West Greene (12-1, 7-1) to a Section 2-A win. Emilee Bazzoli had a double and two RBIs for Jefferson-Morgan (7-5, 4-4). West Greene coach Bill Simms won his 285th game, surpassed long-time wrestling coach John “Buzz” Walters for most coaching wins in school history in any sport.
Boys tennis
Fox Chapel 5, Norwin 0 – The fifth-seeded Foxes won five matches in straight sets in the Class 3A first round and will face No. 4 Upper St. Clair in the quarterfinals. Winners were Mason Friday, Ezra Shensa and Frank Siegel and the doubles teams of Charlie Larsen/Henry Stallings and Parker Haberman/Caden Goodworth. Other first-round winners were No. 1 North Allegheny, No. 8 Franklin Regional, No. 3 Mt. Lebanon, No. 6 Sewickley Academy, No. 7 Shady Side Academy and No. 2 Gateway.

Hampton 17, Winchester Thurston 3 – Lizzy Saponsky scored three goals to lead Hampton to a Section 1-2A win.
Plum 16, Hempfield 4 – Carly Venanzi had four goals and two assists and Ella Pedley also scored four times to lead Plum to a Section 1-3A win. Jadyn Dupal had three goals and an assist and Madi Stewart added two goals and an assist for the Mustangs.
Quaker Valley 18, Knoch 3 – Lucy Roig had four goals and two assists and Kate Miller collected two goals and five assists to lead Quaker Valley to a Section 2-2A win. Alexa Westwood had four goals and Leasia Karto a goal and three assists for the Quakers. Mia Floro and Anna Campbell added a goal and an assist apiece.
