A Sex and the City summer is coming in New York City.
As our favorite fashionable New Yorkers prepare to return to the screen for season three of And Just Like That..., which premieres on May 29, It girls are paying homage to the show’s star, Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker).
This week, Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece channeled her inner Carrie by wearing the same ruched, semi-sheer naked dress Parker wore in season two, episode seven of the series. It’s an archive Donna Karan Collection piece in light pink with a strapless wrap bodice and a flowy skirt featuring a high leg slit. Subtle golden sparkles cover the entire dress.
The royal styled it with strappy pink heels, each adorned with rosettes, and dangly diamond earrings.
In SATC, Carrie wears the dress to attend a friend’s wedding. She brings Big as her date, but when she gets up to make a speech, Big, of course, leaves the room to take a call, disappointing her for the millionth time.
Maria-Olympia wore it to attend actress Phoebe Tonkin’s New York City wedding to art dealer Bernard Lagrange on Monday. The dress code for the nuptials may have been SATC-inspired, as Tonkin herself wore a newspaper-print slipdress, à la Carrie, rather than a traditional wedding dress.
Also this week, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega stepped out in Carrie’s iconic newspaper dress, as well as in a fur coat and pink minidress look that seemed to be pulled straight from another unforgettable SATC scene.
For the girls, And Just Like That... season three can’t come soon enough.
