MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Court records provided more details about a man police claim attacked an ex-girlfriend inside of a Memphis restaurant on Mother's Day. 

Jamaine Ivy's arrest affidavit claims that he brought his current girlfriend and their seven-year-old child to J. Alexander's Restaurant for the attack on May 11.

According to Memphis Police (MPD), Ivy and his current girlfriend entered the restaurant and walked up to his former girlfriend as she ate lunch with her family. Police said multiple people jumped in to try and stop the attack. That's when, according to MPD, Ivy pulled out a gun.

MPD said Ivy, with his gun drawn, told everyone to get back. In fear of being shot, the crowd backed away. Ivy put his ex-girlfriend in a headlock and continued attacking her, according to police. 

Police said Ivy, his current girlfriend, and the seven-year-old child ran from the restaurant following the attack.
