The Edmonton Oilers have advanced to the Stanley Cup final following a 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 5 of the Western Conference final. The Oilers closed out the series with a 4-1 advantage, completing the gentleman’s sweep on Thursday night, May 29.

Edmonton took control early in the game with three goals scored within a six-minute stretch during the first period. The teams exchanged goals in the second period. Edmonton maintained a two-goal cushion heading into the final frame. In the third, Robertson scored again for Dallas, narrowing the margin to 4-3 and briefly increasing pressure on the Oilers.

However, Evander Kane and Kasperi Kapanen each added a goal in the closing minutes to secure the 6-3 win and eliminate the Stars from Stanley Cup contention. The Oilers' balanced scoring effort, with six different players recording goals, proved key in neutralizing Dallas’s offensive efforts.
