In the days since the French Open 2025 kicked off in Roland Garros with the main draw on May 25, 2025, the tournament has already progressed to Round 3 in the men’s and women’s singles categories, with only 32 left in the playing field.

In the men’s category, defending champion Alcaraz had straight set victory against Giulio Zeppieri in the first round, but then dropped one in his next against Fabian Marozsan, before pulling his act together and moving to the third round. Up next, he plays Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, whose career best so far has been a third-round outing at the Australian and French Opens. Alcaraz vs Dzumhur is on May 30

World No 1 Jannik Sinner, who won the year opener Australian Open, began his French Open campaign with a straight set victory over Arthur Rinderknech, which he followed up with another 3-setter against Richard Gasquet. The Italian will now face Jiri Lehecka, a 2023 Australian Open quarter-finalist, on May 31.

Novak Djokovic is very much in the running, gunning for a 25thGrand Slam title. Last year, his attempt was cut short before the quarter-final, when he injured his knee, which kept him out of action for less than two months, before he returned for the Olympics and then Wimbledon. His 2025 Roland Garros journey began with straight set victories against Mackenzie McDonald and Corentin Moutet. His next opponent is 23-year-old Filip Misolic, who is in his maiden main draw of a Grand Slam event, on May 31.
