Community health fair held at school in Spartanburg County
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A health fair was held in the Upstate as a way to give back to the community.
The Community Health Awareness Day Event (CHAD) was held at Carver Middle School on Saturday.
The event began with a health walk, and throughout the day, community members participated in a variety of health education sessions, listened to guest speakers, and took advantage of all the resources available.
This is the 21st year the event has been held.
“It originally started off from just noticing that certain people didn’t have access to those health screens, to healthcare,” CHAD chair Selena Smith said. “So growing into a larger number, basically bringing these resources and these, of course, health screenings directly to the neighborhoods.”
Free health screenings were offered at the event.
