Truss for Children of the Sun Trail

Kuney Construction crews placed the truss for the pedestrian bridge that will connect the Children of the Sun Trail and the Centennial Trail in north Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash - The bridge that will carry pedestrians and cyclists across the Spokane River near Spokane Community college is now in place.

It took Kuney Construction two cranes and just 30 minutes to place the 300,000-pound steel structure, which runs parallel to the North South Corridor.

Washington Department of Transportation says the community chose the truss design for the bridge, which was fabricated at Northwest Steel Fab in Deer Park.
